GCSE Exam-Style Revision

This article explains the GCSE Exam-Style revision

Updated over 2 months ago

What is the weekly revision programme?

  • A consistent weekly revision plan across classes

  • Support video to help students keep moving when they get stuck

  • Clear visibility of who’s keeping up each week

  • Easy monitoring to support accountability and targeted support

Important Information for Staff

  • There are two packages that are tier-specific

  • Packages build in difficulty like an exam

  • If you turn on the revision package in week 3, for example, all historic weeks of revision will open (i.e. weeks 1-3 in this example).

  • If you have a mixed-tier class you will need to set both tiers of revision and direct students to the correct package.

  • The teacher guide (attached below) outlines which topic students will see each week.

  • You can monitor students’ revision via the Revision Summary page in Sparx Assessments

Important Information for Students

  • Weekly task 1 starts as soon as you turn on the GCSE Exam Style revision package

  • The first weekly task will be extended, running until Tuesday 10th February to give you time to get student started

  • Weekly task 2 will automatically open on Wednesday 11th February and then every Wednesday for the next 10 weeks

  • Every revision question has a video to support students

  • Students can always get ahead as the next week unlocks as soon as they start their current week

  • When students complete their Exam Style weekly revision, they can still access their topic-based revision (if turned on) to get further practice on specific topics.
